About Brooke Phillips

As an FEI event rider, USEA ICP Level III instructor, trainer, and coach, Brooke has competed nationally through the Intermediate level and internationally through FEI CCI** while helping riders achieve their own competitive goals. Whether working with a young horse, an adult amateur returning to the sport, or an experienced competitor, her approach is grounded in thoughtful progression, solid fundamentals, and individualized coaching.

Horse & rider development

Throughout her career, Brooke has produced many of her own horses, often starting with green-broke prospects and developing them into successful competition partners.

Her accomplishments include:

​

  • National competitor through CCI***

  • International competition through FEI CCI**

  • Ninth in the USEA Preliminary National Rankings with Murray of the Sea

  • Invitation to the USEA Developmental Riders Program

  • Competition in Equitation, Level 4 Jumpers, and Third Level Dressage on both personal and client horses

 

Murray of the Sea was also long-listed for the 2004 Olympic Games and short-listed for the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Stockholm, Sweden.

​ A proven coach

Since beginning her professional instruction career in 1998, Brooke has helped riders develop from their first experiences in eventing to the international levels of the sport.

Her students have included:

  • 4 riders to the Intermediate level

  • 10 riders to the Preliminary level

  • 3 riders to CCI**

  • 6 riders to CCI*

  • Countless riders progressing through Beginner Novice, Novice, and Training

 

While Brooke enjoys developing competitive riders, she is equally passionate about helping adult amateurs return to horses and creating individualized training plans that meet every partnership where they are.

Brooke believes great trainers never stop learning. Throughout her career, she has trained with many of the sport's most respected professionals, including:

Today, she continues to bring that knowledge to Willamette Sport Horses in Monmouth, Oregon, where her focus remains the same: helping horses and riders build confidence, develop strong foundations, and achieve their goals together.
